Ron Edwards Scholars Program at River Bend Elementary

Honor Ron Edwards — Support the Ron Edwards Scholars Program

River Bend Elementary has its legends, and few have left a mark as lasting — or as generous — as Ron Edwards. A beloved physical education teacher, Ron’s dedication to the students of River Bend didn’t end with his retirement. Whether handing out candy at the Fourth of July parade, showing up at school events year after year, or surprising kids at the neighborhood pool, Ron’s generosity and kindness have been constants in our community.

Now, it’s our turn to continue his legacy.

The Ron Edwards Scholars Program provides books for River Bend Elementary students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to purchase one at the fall book fair. Your donations will help ensure every student has the chance to take home a book — opening doors to imagination, learning, and possibility.

We are currently collecting monetary donations so we can take advantage of the upcoming Scholastic spring two-for-one sale, allowing us to maximize the number of books we can provide.

In addition to new books, we also welcome like-new book donations from the community. Many children outgrow books or only read them once — these gently used books will be stored at River Bend Elementary and shared with students as part of this special program.
