The Purple Pride Scholarship for Theatre and Music

Intent:  The intent of this scholarship is to honor and respect student creativity rather than just test taking skills or SAT-type of intelligence.

Purpose of Scholarship:  The Scholarship is established to provide scholarships to students chosen from Parkway North High School who are pursuing a post-secondary educational experience through university, four year college, community college, trade school, or other program deemed appropriate by the selection committee.

Eligible Recipients:  Each year, one student attending Parkway North High School as a senior shall receive the scholarship award.  To be eligible to receive the award, the candidate must

• Be involved for at least several years in some capacity in the theatre or music program; and 
• Be well-rounded academically, receiving no higher than a 3.5 GPA; and
• Be enrolled in an accredited institution to receive post-secondary education. 

In addition, preference will be given to those applicants who will be the first generation of his/her family to receive post-secondary education.

Amount:  The amount of award will be $5,000 for a student.
