Do you want to make a difference in the life of a Parkway student, educator or alumni? Please consider making a donation to one of our programs.

There are many meaningful ways to give to the Parkway Alumni Association. Whether you choose to make a general donation or direct your contribution to a specific fund, your gift helps support programs that benefit Parkway alumni, students, staff, and the greater Parkway community — all in alignment with our mission.

General donations are always appreciated and allow us to address the areas of greatest need. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference. Thank you for supporting the PAA — your generosity helps keep our alumni community connected and thriving.

The Parkway Alumni Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Marketable Securities

The Parkway Alumni Association accepts gifts of marketable securities.

Transferring appreciated stock to Parkway Alumni Association provides you with added tax benefits. Not only are you eligible for an income tax charitable deduction,* but you also are able to avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.

*The availability of an income tax charitable deduction depends on many factors, including without limitation the type of property donated, your level of income, the amount donated, and whether you itemize. Please consult your tax advisor to determine the amount and availability of a tax deduction.

Beneficiary Designations

You may wish to designate Parkway Alumni Association as the beneficiary on your retirement plan, life insurance policy or other asset. Beneficiary designations may be added on brokerage accounts and bank accounts.

Naming Parkway Alumni Association as a beneficiary on your IRA or other retirement plan provides you with added tax benefits. Normally, when money is distributed from a traditional IRA after the participant’s death, the recipient has to pay income taxes on the amount received. If, instead, you name Parkway Alumni Association as the beneficiary, there are no income taxes on the amount distributed.

Bequests

One of the easiest ways to make a gift to Parkway Alumni Association is by making a bequest. Bequests are made by providing in your will or your revocable trust agreement that you would like a certain dollar amount or percentage of your assets to be paid on your death to the Parkway Alumni Association. On your death, your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction for the amount passing to the Parkway Alumni Association.

Sample language for your bequest:
Upon my death, the [Personal Representative or Trustee] shall distribute [the sum of $______] [___ shares of _____________ stock] [____% of the residue] to Parkway Alumni Association, currently located at 455 North Woods Mill Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017, to be used for its general purposes.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A charitable remainder trust is a type of trust that makes payments to you and/or your family members or other people you designate for a period time and then the remaining assets pass to Parkway Alumni Association.

During your life or upon your death, you transfer cash or stock to the trust. You name the beneficiaries to receive a stream of payments and you decide the type of payments that the beneficiary will receive. The payments may be a fixed amount (called an “annuity”) or a percentage of the assets each year (called a “unitrust payment”).

If you create the charitable remainder trust during your life, you are eligible to receive an income tax charitable deduction for the value of the remainder interest. If the trust is created upon your death, you are eligible to receive an estate tax charitable deduction for the value of the remainder interest.

Charitable Lead Trusts

A charitable lead trust is a type of trust that makes payments to Parkway Alumni Association, typically for a number of years, and then the remaining assets pass to you and/or your family members.

During your life or upon your death, you transfer cash or stock to the trust. Parkway Alumni Association receives a stream of payments from the trust. You decide the type of payments that Parkway Alumni Association will receive. The payments may be a fixed amount (called an “annuity”) or a percentage of the assets each year (called a “unitrust payment”). After a period of time specified by you in the trust, the remaining assets pass to beneficiaries named by you.

The timing and amount of income tax and estate tax charitable deductions will depend on the specific terms of your trust.

An endowment is a special kind of gift that keeps giving. Instead of being spent all at once, your donation is invested, and the earnings are used each year to support things like scholarships, programs, or other important needs. Giving Tuesday & Give STL Day

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement. Give STL Day is a day dedicated to making contributions to nonprofits in the St Louis area. Proceeds from Giving Tuesday and Give STL Day go to support the Light of Parkway program.

Give 4 November

Give 4 November is a special opportunity for Parkway employees to support the Parkway Alumni Association's mission of giving back. Each November, staff members are invited to make a one-time donation or sign up for convenient payroll deductions—all to help fund PAA’s student grants, educator recognition, and scholarship programs.

Every contribution, big or small, goes directly toward supporting students, celebrating dedicated educators, and keeping the Parkway spirit strong. It’s a simple way to make a lasting impact right from your workplace.
